About LEDforum 2010 Taipei

LED applications in all areas have shown rapid growth in recent years, especially LED lighting and LED backlighting, these two major applications have drawn the most attention. A considerable number of existing companies already have been profited from various LED applications. There is an increasing number of new entrants in the LED market. Countries around the world started to actively support the green energy industry. Sales of LED light bulbs are stimulated from the banning of florescent light bulbs, and demand for energy-saving, high image quality liquid crystal display devices. In short, the integration of LED epitaxy, LED packaging and LED Light engine is improving progressively with new developments.

LEDinside predicts, based on the current price of US$ 7~10 per 1,000 lumens, cost of LED is expected to drop to US$ 2~3 per 1,000 lumens in 2015. The demand for LED lighting will continue to grow in year 2011 and 2012, as countries around the globe are switching to energy-saving light source. The replacement is estimated to save 30 percent or more in energy consumption. This will be one of the new energy policies that governments worldwide aggressively promote.

LEDforum 2010 is a two-day event organized by is LEDinside and the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute. LEDforum will be held on November 1st and 2nd at National Taiwan University Hospital International Conference Center.
