Overview
Survival Battle - Process Migration and Performance
The DRAM industry faced huge loss in 2008 and 1H 2009. DRAM manufacturers cut capital spending, thus slowing next generation of process migration and changed global DRAM landscape. Could market status really be better in 2H09 or 2010? Who will survive through the downturn and how's DDR3's penetration rate in 2010?
Current market visibility is low and the total NAND Flash market demand is still weak. Due to shrinking demand and supply, what scenario will NAND Flash market be?
As high performance device becomes a new focus for storage devices, SSD manufacturers have to use new strategies to promote their products. Both heavy loading servers and high end notebooks need high performance SSD. Low-cost net PCs need less costly SSD. Therefore, how can SSD manufacturers offer these different products in the market? It is expected that new NAND Flash production technology and SSD controller solutions will help NAND Flash related makers further enlarge the SSD market size .
SSD suppliers such as SanDisk, Hitachi, Toshiba and Intel have all driven the growth rate of NAND Flash demand. iPhone and smart phone have also consumed NAND Flash output. DRAMeXchange expects the demand bit growth of 2009 NAND Flash market will drop from 118.7% YoY of 2008 to 68.8% YoY in 2009.
Owing to all these observations, the landscape in this industry is changing. The million-dollar question here isn’t about the changes but whether you can keep up. Can you?!
DRAMeXchange Compuforum 2009 will be held on 2nd June, 2009 (the same as the Opening Day of Computex Taipei 2009). The seminar is a half day event and includes in-depth discussion on the spotlight of memory industry. DRAMeXchange offers a perfect occasion for all participants and their companies to update market intelligence through our forum. This conference also aims to provide an ocassion where all participants can interact with industry leaders for new business opportunities
Who should attend
We expect to see about 250 audiences from memory/PC industry, financial field and international media to attend this conference. Participants from last year came from 23 countries/regions, and 89% of participants are in management position and have decision-making power. Over 80% of participants have or can influence purchasing decision
